Tomorrow...we abandon ALL diets. That is a four letter word (minus the 's'), one that is not to be uttered by anyone at all. That word is like Voldermort and shall not be named.

You don't know?! I have been excited about this day for about a month. Do you even listen to me?!?!
TOMORROW IS NATIONAL CHEESECAKE DAY!!!!
Now on to me. For the past week and a half I have been on vacation from my "real" job and to be honest I was bored out of my mind! You would think I would have accomplished a lot of baking during that time off but I had no desire to create anything. Kind of depressing if you dwell on it. But I wont.
So what was the post of me telling you that? I had no point, just wanted to share.
This time around I made two types of cheesecakes using the same base cheesecake. I plan to make a cheesecake today and will post that tomorrow. Again...there are no diets tomorrow (July 30, 2012).
The first cheesecake is a Caramel Apple Cheesecake. I used my go to cheesecake recipe and just added some caramel on top before I baked it.

The next cheesecake is my favorite because, it has bacon.
Many people were like "eewww bacon cheesecake?!" but once they tried it...they liked it. AND we all know that bacon makes EVERYTHING better. Got a paper cut? Eat some bacon. Got a flat tire? Eat some bacon. Got fired? Eat some bacon. Got dumped? EAT SOME BACON. The list goes on and on my friend.
So back to cheesecakes. Make the base cheesecake but instead of adding vanilla add some maple extract AND some maple syrup. I used a classic graham cracker crust. Once it is baked, fry up some bacon. Top it. Eat it.
I dont know why I love this holiday so much, but I do and I think it is super fun.
