Buzzzz!!!!!

So the musical is over!  While it was super fun I am super happy to have my life back!

Now that I have time on my hands I can start baking again.  Its about time because while I am a musical SUPERSTAR, baking is more fun.

In honor of the Spelling Bee I made some Honey Cupcakes.

Before you all get excited about my new creation do note that I took a page from Sandra Lee and made it semi-homemade.

And in my book that is okay from time to time.  Yeah we all should be making things from scratch but when Billy Bob comes home from school and tells you (after you've had a long day at work) that he volunteered YOU to bake cupcakes for the bake sale TOMORROW.  Don't panic.  First yell at Billy for volunteering and then whip out that box of cake mix and get to work.

These cupcakes are super easy to make.  First up make some honeycombs.  I got the idea for this from Sweetopia.  She made a honeycomb cookie and I thought "awesome technique, I can use this for a cupcake"

So here is how I did it.

So I followed the directions on the box and ADDED a cup of honey.  WHAT!!!  Insane, maybe a little but it worked for me.

Once the cupcake were out of the oven I was worried about the honey taste.  Would the honey flavor bake out of the cupcakes?  So I decided to poke holes in the super hot cupcakes and pour honey (yep plain old honey) right onto the cupcakes.

Allow those to cool.  Then make some buttercream.

Same principle.  All I did was make the standard buttercream (whatever is your favoriate) and added honey...I didnt even measure...I just poured.
While you wait for the cupcakes to cool, make some bees!

Bees are super easy and are explained here

I had the BRILLIANT idea of putting some bees on wires to give the illusion of flying.

Cute idea right....yeah it didnt work to good on the cupcake.

That was fun.

Okay.  I have nothing else to say.

Peanut Butter Brunettes

Hello Everyone,

I have been super busy with the musical that I am in...the one that you all are going to watch (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), but one day I had a break from rehearsal and decided that I wanted to eat something sweet and easy.

What to make, what to make.  I decided to make some blondies...but then I realized that I didn't have any white chocolate, all I had was peanut butter chips...LIGHT BULB!  Peanut Butter Blondies!  After they baked and Sparky came home she was eating one and said "what is this?" I told her "a peanut butter blondie" she said "this should be called peanut butter brunettes!" and so there you have it.  The birth of the peanut butter brunette! Want the recipe.  Well I got this one from a book...but you can use this recipe, pretty much the same thing.

So here we go.

Then you bake them and they look like the picture up top.

I decided to see how the Blondie would taste with no chocolate or peanut butter chips and they were pretty darn tasty.

That is all kids.  I've got nothing else.

Have a good day.  Happy Easter...I will try to post something Easter related soon...but if I fail to do so know that I thought about it.

Love and Frosting!
