You are all welcome...i just taught you a useless word!  In a couple of weeks the musical that has been taking up all of my baking time will finally open!!!

And I think you all should come out and watch it!  So if you are bored that weekend come see ME (and other awesome people) in the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee!!!


Now on to baking.  I decided that I should have a series of cupcakes that feature alcohol.  I have made a Guinness/Baileys cupcake, and a Jake Daniel's cupcake so it seems like the most logical progression is to make a wine cupcake.

Red wine to be exact. 

How was it...okay.  I think it was a little too sweet for my taste but in the long run it was better than other cupcakes I have made.

I Made a Twinkie...

or something in the vague shape of a twinkie...

So they don't look bad right, but sadly they were bad.  The cake wasnt spongy like a twinkie and the filling wasnt delicious like a twinkie..it was just (in my book) an all around fail.

Why am I trying to make my own twinkie?  cant we just buy them in the store...for now we can yes, but you all did hear that Hostess the makers of Twinkies have filled bankruptcy and what happens when they close and we can no longer get our Twinkie fix?

But perhaps the best way to save the company is to go out there and buy some real Twinkies, while you can.  I saw a recipe for a Twinkie Tiramisu and it looks delicious! 

So anyway, I found this recipe one day and thought I shall give it a try.  Click HERE for said recipe (you might have more success then I).

Sparky decided to help me (and I love that, she is so good at following directions and cleaning up...she is awesome).

And that is all kids.  I know it looks pretty yummy but it was not.

I shall try again, a different recipe this time.

I Will Drink to That!

HELLO EVERYONE!!!!

Did you miss me?  I missed you! 

Where the heck have I been?  Well in my spare time I like to sing.  This year my Alma Mater is putting on a production of "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" and I was cast to play Rona Lisa Peretti!  So many (most, almost all) of my nights are taken to learn this musical.  Want to watch it?!  Don't you worry your pretty little heads about it, I will send out reminders via this blog and Facebook.

So what is coming up?  St. Patrick's Day!!!!   While I love the Guinness Cupcake (my personal favoriate cupcake) this year I wanted to do something different. 

So Whiskey Cake here I come!  The recipe came from Sprinkles Bakes and I used the same recipe EXCEPT she used an Irish Whiskey and I just used Jake Daniel's.  I would have used Irish whiskey but that stuff is EXPENSIVE and I was not down for spending 30 bucks on some whiskey. 

So let us begin.

So that is my cupcake for St. Paddy day.  I found out that I have some Irish in me (on my mom's side) so you can totally kiss me if you want.
