I Made a Twinkie...

or something in the vague shape of a twinkie...

So they don't look bad right, but sadly they were bad.  The cake wasnt spongy like a twinkie and the filling wasnt delicious like a twinkie..it was just (in my book) an all around fail.

Why am I trying to make my own twinkie?  cant we just buy them in the store...for now we can yes, but you all did hear that Hostess the makers of Twinkies have filled bankruptcy and what happens when they close and we can no longer get our Twinkie fix?

But perhaps the best way to save the company is to go out there and buy some real Twinkies, while you can.  I saw a recipe for a Twinkie Tiramisu and it looks delicious!

So anyway, I found this recipe one day and thought I shall give it a try.  Click HERE for said recipe (you might have more success then I).

Sparky decided to help me (and I love that, she is so good at following directions and cleaning up...she is awesome).

And that is all kids.  I know it looks pretty yummy but it was not.

I shall try again, a different recipe this time.

Love and Frosting,

  1. You know what it might not look like a twinkie you buy in the store but it probably taste way better than the ones in the store... over the years the taste of a twinkie has become more and more not tasteful.. i dont know what it is about them.. and i think that items homemade are more well worth it than high demand manufactured items... because they are made from the heart with love and time!!! =)

  2. Homemade is always better! I think next time I need to use a lighter cake...perhaps a sponge instead of a pound cake. Thanks for reading :)
