Golden Oreo Cheesecake...yummy!!!!!

Hello Everyone,

I have a confession.  I don't care for chocolate.  Sure I will eat it sometimes but its not like I go searching for chocolate.  I love gummy candy.  Once I used gummy bears to bribe a friend to be in a musical with me (Pippin, I played Fastrada, good times), it totally worked and we are still good friend.  See the power of a gummy, could chocolate do that?  I don't think so.

Given my aversion to chocolate when I found a recipe for a Golden Oreo Cheesecake I HAD to give it a try.

Close your eyes and picture a beautifully artistic picture of a cheesecake. Got it?  Good, keep that image in your head cause I didn't take an artful picture of the finished product.

Well I went on my first real vacation in over....10 years...I think.

Where did I go? 

To FLORIDA to visit Harry Potter Land and Disney World.

Hello Kitty Ruffle Cake

Hello Everyone,

I tried to think of a clever title for this post but I am drawing a blank.  It is Amazing how many people love Hello Kitty.  I just hope I never get tired of her.

I like to spend my free time surfing the internet for cute pictures of cakes.  I also like to look at all the cookie/cupcake/cake blogs out there and compare myself to them.  I sit here and think "Man, I need to shot better pictures" or "Man, I wish I were more clever".

I was out to dinner recently and got a lychee martini (which was VERY strong) and I started talking and you know what?  I was so funny!  Then, light bulb!  To compete with other food blogs I must become more clever and to become more clever I need to drink before I blog!

THEN I watched Oprah Presents Master Class.  It was an episode with Oprah talking about how she became OPRAH and she said "The way you step up your game is not to worry about the other guy in any situation, because you can't control the other guy.  You only have control over yourself"

Wow Oprah.  Are you talking directly to me!??!?!  I mean she was looking right at me...that message was meant for me right?   I am now spreading it to you all.

I have seen ruffle cakes on other blogs and I always wanted to try it out.  My sister ordered a cake and said "It needs to be Hello Kitty, I will leave the design up to you"  Music to my ears!!!

First I wanted to made a banner thing to say "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" (I later learned that this is called bunting...strange names for these things!).

I opened up Microsoft Publisher and made a simple sign. 

And that is about it....finished picture is up above so I dont need to reshow that to you all.

Ahoy! Kitty Be A Pirate

Ahoy! Everyone,

We all love Hello Kitty (or in pirate - Ahoy! Kitty, and I will now throw in some pirate speak).

I have a bucko who loves pirates and zombies.  I think she likes Ahoy! Kitty too...I think.  I have seen Ahoy! Kitty before and always thought I should give it a try. 

Once again I failed t' take "progress" pictures.  So I drew them with me crayons.
