When Life Gives You Lemons...Make a Cupcake!

Hello Everyone,

As always I am going to implore that you go and "Like" me on Facebook.

I will wait...done?  Okay lets move on.

A popular food chain has a new drink that I love, it is called the Frozen Strawberry Lemonade.  As I drank my drink it got me to thinking "I should make this into a cupcake!"

Pretty right.  Yep I thought so too...but they tasted gross!

I tried out a new recipe by a VERY popular bakery in the mainland and it just did not work for me.  I think I added the wrong amount of baking power (so they didn't rise...baking powder makes things rise right?) and I think I UNDER mixed it (I tend to OVER mix things so I was trying hard to mix until "just blended" like the recipe says).

They look pretty, but this teaches you that you can't judge a cupcake by its decoration!  The one bright note of these cupcakes were the frosting, that was yummy.  You all should give it a try, I am sure you will have better results than me.

I am a little ashamed to show you all the "how to" pictures since in one shot you can OBVIOUSLY see that I UNDER mixed it...oh well...here we go.  This blog is about learning (and I am still learning!)

Let those bake up a bit.  Cool them down and make some buttercream!

Add powdered sugar till you get the consistency that you need.  Pipe it on, cut up some fruit and you are done!

Okay now.  They look good right.  WRONG.  Mine were disgusting...but I am sure that when you all try to make this yummy cupcake it will work out for you.  Go out there and bake away.  When you make the yummy cupcake come back and comment on this post telling me how awesome your cakes were and how much THIS cake sucks.

Cakes...On Cupcakes?!?!?!

I was working on some cupcakes...

AND watching the Americas Next Top Model Cycle 16 marathon on Oxygen (so much fun! I love Top Model...after watching I am convinced that I could smize with the best of them!) Any who in the whole Top Model madness I forgot to take pictures of my progress....SO I drew them! 

Prepare to be blown away by my artistic representations of gumpaste making!!!

So that was the Cake portion of this.  I based my next little guy on CakeSpy (whom I love)!

Well that is all.  Next time I will not let Americas Next Top Model distract me...well no...that's a lie.

Want Candy!!!

Hello Everyone,

I haven't blogged in FOREVER!  I know you all have been clicking on the bookmark for this page (you HAVE bookmarked it right?) everyday asking God (or whoever you pray to...might be Oprah, I don't judge) if I posted anything new and everyday you have left in disappointment.  Well fear not my friends.  I am back...for now.

Lets make some "candy" cupcakes!!!

So the theme was "candy" but the client said I could include cupcakes and ice cream and stuff like that so on we go!

I think that is all.  Yep, that is it for now kids.

Stay safe out there.  Don't talk to strangers.  Play nice with others and if someone offers you candy...just say no!
