Happy Halloween (round two!)
I am not a big Halloween fan but this year I was asked to make some Halloween cookies AND I could do whatever I wanted.
I decided to make the Frankenstein Monster. I am not sure if he actually has a name so I named him Mack (and Kammy named another one Freddy, the rest don't have names).
CUTE!!!!
Now here is how I made them. I baked square cookies (which kind of wrapped in the baking process). Then I piped on green rounded rectangles for Mack's head.
Filled it in with the blood. (sorry for the blurry picture!)
Then you let them dry (I prefer letting they dry overnight).
I had an accident...I was about to wrap them up for the night when...I hit him!
MACK (or FREDDY) NOOOOOO!!!!!
At least the rest look okay. That is why kiddies, when you bake ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS make extra!
After their rest pipe on two black dots for eyes.
Added a mouth.
His scar.
Hair and those bolt things to the side of his head.
AHHH!!!! So cute!!!
So remember I had that one that I messed up? Well I figured out a way to fix him.
Yep. I am a genius!!!!
MACK!!
MACK and FREDDY!!!
Packaged and ready to go
Have a safe and happy Halloween!!!!
Merry Christmas.

Zombie Hello Kitty Want Brains...

Happy Halloween!!!!
This is the first of TWO Halloween post.
I love me some Hello Kitty and was searching Halloween cupcakes one day when I stumbled upon some Hello Kitty zombie cupcakes.
What a cute idea! I decided that I had to try it out myself.
I rolled out some gumpaste and used my Hello Kitty cookie cutter.
Added some eyes, whiskers and scar line thing.
A nose.
Her bow.
Black dots.
My boss (and his wife) found these cupcake paper thingies at Longs. It is the Reynolds StayBrite Baking cups. I love buying cute cupcake cups but they never look that way after you bake in them. These baking cups are AMAZING!!!!
I slapped on some frosting and stuck on the gumpaste and I was done! Easy.
Happy Halloween.

Cute right. Now that I look at it I think that she looks more like a Franken-Kitty then a Zombie Kitty. But regardless she is cute.
Happy Halloween.

Happy Candy Corn Day!!!
Posted by
Cup-e-Cake Gang
I was at work looking at my wall calendar (provided by Hoops and Yoyo) and it told me that today (October 30th) was National Candy Corn Day.
I actually, usually HATE candy corn. It was the one candy in my trick or treat bag that I would not touch.
This year...I have been craving candy corn.
I knew I would have to celebrate the day! With some candy corn cookies!!!!
I got the idea from this amazing book called "Cookie Swap" by Julia Usher.
I have never before dyed cookie dough OR attempted to make a cookie that looked like what it should before I decorated it with royal icing (wow...great sentence, my former English teachers must be SO proud!!)
Pretty!!!
All three colors ready to go.
They had to chill in the fridge for a couple hours. I was impatient so I stuck them in the freezer. Worked just fine.
Took them out of the freezer and stacked them using a mixture of water and meringue powder as glue.
Wrapped them up and then stuck them in the freezer.
Took it out of the freezer and then cut off slices
Then make some triangles.
Fail!!! I horrible picture AND a broken cookie.
All the scraps that I will bake anyway.
Ready to go.
So a few things...why did they puff up so much?! That must be the cookie recipe. I am not a baker...I am a decorator so I will have to work on that.
Look at this one!
On the bright side, while they didnt turn out pretty like I hoped they are really, really yummy!
Have a happy Candy Corn day!

I was asked to make some cupcakes based on these ADORABLE owls.
Retro Mama Owls
Here is the final product!
Rolled out some light blue gumpaste and cut out circles with my handy dandy biscuit cutter.
Then I cut out some light brown owl shapes (also in gumpaste).
So far so good. Next. Add some feet
Add a beak.
Attach the owl to the circle with some water and added the wings.
Made some eyes.
Then added some wing details
Done.
YAY ME!!!! *clap hands*

First order of business. Make some owls.

Added tiny flowers and one eyeball. SO CUTE!!!

Then added some wing details
Done.
I am super proud of them...could you tell?
I made some cupcakes, frosted them, slapped an owl circle on them and some flowers (to break up the overpowering cuteness) and here they are.
YAY ME!!!! *clap hands*
