It has a million recipes...well not a million but a lot!

My first project was Whoopie Pies.

The cookie should be light and fluffy, kind of like a cake

That looks right.

A tray of them.  Now time for the filling!

There is is...all done.

Wonder what it taste like...

So good!!!!  They were very, very sweet.

I wrapped them up in tin foil and they are ready to go.

J-E-L-L-O

I had some left over Cool Whip from my nieces birthday cake.  On the back of the lid there is a recipe for some kind of jello square that looks like this:

yummy!!!!  So off to the store I went.  The only thing is that everyone in the town wanted to eat strawberry jello so...I had to buy lemon.

Graham cracker crust.

Cream cheese, Cool Whip concoction.

Look at the mess I am making!

Better messy picture!

I personally really like lemon, so I hope that doesnt mess it up.

Pretty!

It has cooled in the fridge for a good five hours.  Time to dig in.

Ummm....that doesnt look like the pictures.

That doesnt look like the picture AT ALL!!!!  It did taste good though.

Next time I will use strawberry.

Cherry Blossoms....

are pretty.

This time I am going to show you step by step how I make gum paste flowers.  I tend to make easy flowers because I am not very good at it yet.

Step One:  Cut out the basic shape:

Step Two:  Take one flower and place it on a foam pad.  Take a small rolling tool and roll the flower out.  Be sure to move the flower in a circle so that the flower keeps its shape.

See how big it gets...well you cant really tell but you will once you see it next to the other one.

see, almost twice the size!

Step Three:  Take another ball tool (I use tools that are for clay...it works and its cheaper than buying the actual gum paste tools) and roll out the small flower.  Just to thin out the petals a little.

Get some pink and yellow luster dust

Step Four:  Lightly dust the petals on the big flower and then the little flower.

Step Five:  Dust on the yellow middle and then with a paintbrush wet the big flowers center.  Place the smaller flower on top making sure that the petals are off set.

Step Six:  Put the flower on a big foam square and take the ball tool.  Place it in the middle of the flower and press down to cup the flower.

Step Seven:  Place the flowers in an egg carton to maintain the curve and let dry.

Step Seven:  Take some yellow royal icing and pipe little dots on the center of each flower.

Strawberries...yummy!!!!

Crumb coat the cake:

While I love buttercream I cannot figure out how the professionals make it so gosh darn smooth.

Add some royal icing branches, stick the flowers on and your are done!

Kirby!!!

My niece and I like to play Smash Bro. Brawl.  She is Kriby and I am Samus, and then she proceeds to kick my butt.

For her birthday I decided to make a gumpaste Kriby to stick on top of her whip cream cake.

He is pretty easy, just make a circle and add some arms and feet:

I had some issues with his eyes.

Then...the baby came into the room:

She sees Kriby...

She got close to him and started to wave.  It was so cute...but then she reached to grab him!!! NOOOOO!!!!!

Instead of using frosting I covered the cake with whip cream (per my nieces request).

Super Duper Yummy!!!!

Today is your birthday!

My niece turns 10 on Friday.  TEN!  Oh my where has the time gone!?

It is customary that the birthday boy/girl brings in cupcakes for the whole class, but since Friday is a furlough day (I think) her birthday cupcakes needed to be done on Thursday.

Discussing cupcakes with a almost 10 year old went something like this:

"What kind of cupcakes do you want?"  I asked
"Vanilla with vanilla frosting!" birthday girl said
"What do you want them to look like?"
"I want sprinkles...lots of sprinkles"
"That's all.  All you want are sprinkles?"
"Yep and I want MY cupcake to have ALL the different colored sprinkles on it!"

I can make really pretty things and all she wants are sprinkles?  Okay.

I had some left over cupcakes and my sister quickly claimed them.

An action shot!!!!
