Elephants and Hippos and Zebras...Oh My!

I was asked to make cookies using this as inspiration:

HOW CUTE IS THAT!?!?!??!  The design is called Cocalo Tropical Punch and I love it.

My first plan was to make cookie cutters in the shape of the animal.  Then as I made the cutters and it looked really, really  ugly...so on to plan B.

I cut out rectangles and drew the picture of the animal onto the cookie with royal icing:

Hippos

Zebras

 

Elephants

At the moment they just look like blobs of icing...not cute.  here they are with their details.

Completed hippo!  i LOVE them!!!!  I added a border around the cookie to give it a finished look.  i really, really like these cookies.

Completed zebra...they were my favorite.

Graveyard Cake
